Britanny B&B
- Gites de Kerlun
There are some superb roads around us in Brittany, whether you're looking for a blast out or a cruise around taking in the sites and sounds.
We are bikers ourselves and love an excuse to have a ride out with friends. Whilst staying with us we can organise lead rides with one of us or with a group, or if you prefer we can recommend places for you to visit and roads to ride.
Kerlun is situated right on the edge of the Forest De Quencan, an 8,000 acre forest which is stunning throughout the seasons, and we are only a 5 minute drive to Lake Guerledan with a small sandy beach and restaurant.
Fishing, walking, biking, water sports and horse riding can all be done practically on your doorstep, we are based in the country with no immediate neighbours and yet only 5 minutes to the lovely Flower village of St.Aignan, where you can buy your fresh baguettes, have a drink in the bar and a super meal in the Pecherie restaurant, Or why not let us have a meal ready for you in the comfort of your
gite!

Hello,
We run a small pension in the Black Forest, we are able to offer good quality
accommodation to all bikers. We are located just 5 minutes from the Black Forest High Road, one of the most popular roads for German Bikers. From the village, France is only 25 mins, Strasburg 40 mins & Basel about an hour & a half.
We would be happy to offer a discount of 10% to members of your club, this discount is from prices that are already very good for the standard of
accommodation offered. Your members can relax in the heated indoor pool or take a beer (or two!) to pass the time when they are not out enjoying the fantastic roads.

After seeing the advert on the VSOC website we contacted Angela at pension Williams who was very helpful and secured our booking without taking any money from us.
Six of us traveled from the Moselle Valley to the Black Forest to be be greeted warmly by our host David (Angela's husband).
He had moved his car so we could put our bikes next to the entrance of the Pension (where he normally parks his car!) and under cover but it is a quiet residential area so you have no worries at all about the safety of your bikes. After a welcoming, complimentary drink and chat we were shown to our rooms which were spacious, clean and excellent views over the town of Seebach. We had a dip in the indoor pool whch is very inviting after a hot day travelling on the bikes.
David and Angela provide snacks such as sandwiches and soups at very reasonable prices or you can have a 10-15 minute walk to the local town where there are a few restaurants to choose from. There is a self service bar for beers and wine at reasonable prices within the Pension if you want to ride into the town for a meal and then come back to have a few beers which is what we did. David and Angela made out stay very enjoyable and would certainly recommend them to any bikers
wanting to use this as a base whilst exploring the Black Forest.
Due to being members of the VSOC they also gave us a 10% discount which was great and made our final bill at the end of our visit that little bit less frightening. We had an excellent time so please give them a try if you are thinking of going to the Black Forest.
Thanks from,
Jo and Steve Smith (Centre 6)

Platts
Farm Bunkhouse
I’ve
been meaning to pass around the details of a bunkhouse we use annually for a
tour around the Derbyshire Dales.
It's on a dairy farm at Platts Farm, Bamford, Hope Valley, High Peak Derbyshire.
The main bunkhouse comprises 3 rooms, of 6, 6 and 10 bunks. There are two
washrooms/wcs totalling four wcs, 4 showers and 4 basins. There is a fully
equipped kitchen and common room.
The price is very reasonable at £320 for the whole 22 berth place for a two
night weekend (Fri and Sat night, home Sunday.)
There is a self-contained 4 berth annex part that can be booked as well for more
cash.
It makes a pleasant change to camping as you only need a sleeping bag and wash
kit which appeals to non camp types…. Its in a very pretty area as many of you
will know. It doesn’t much matter that the Cat & Fiddle run is 50 m.p.h.
limited; its rewarding enough to ride the bends NICELY and accurately at
whatever speed…… and there are also some stunning back roads where you can
hustle along if you need to!
Beds can also be booked individually for smaller numbers on an ad hoc basis.
Mrs Platt can be contacted on 01433 651298 and it is safe to mention us!
For any more details e/mail or phone Chas. Harris. C19 Rep.

90-100 mph with minimum or no traffic, and the foods .....well French, and the
booze is ....well mostly wine or cider or beer, give Adrian an E. He's about an
hour from Cherbourg and I almost forgot, he's English and the accommodation is
pretty spectacular as well. (From Dave Twissell, Paignton, Devon. VSOC #3551 via VSOC Online Forum)

Hi,
We are the Wishing Well
Guesthouse.
My name is Riccardo Biguzzi, I and my partner Karen are opening a dedicated motorcycle Guesthouse in France, called The Wishing well.
Our website address is
www.thewishingwellguesthouse.com
As a young, enthusiastic couple who love motorcycling, touring and the French way of life. We decided to put all these interests into a dedicated motorcycle guesthouse set in the heart of the Limousin region of France.
We are situated between junction 44 & 45 of the A20 auto route. South of Limoges in the village of Espartignac near the medieval town of Uzerche, which is only 5 minutes away with it’s bars restaurants and amenities.
The Wishing Well is close to the mountains of the Massif Central, with a wonderful choice of fast sweeping roads. The rivers of the Dordogne and Vezere are nearby for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and even sunbathing if you can tear yourself away from the roads!!
Revel in the gorges of the Vazere valley, with its many watermills, medieval towns and wonderful landscapes. The cliffside village of Rocamadour is a spectacular site and a visit the prehistoric caves at Payrac is one not to be missed!
The Property:
A beautiful stone, village farmhouse, dating back to the 1800’s. The house and main barn boarders the old village square of Espartignac and is situated opposite a small 14th century church. Only a stones throw away is a superb restaurant and bar.
The accommodation:
In the farmhouse we have 3 double/twin rooms with en suit shower/wc. Living/seating area and dinning area all tastefully decorated with a warm welcoming feeling. The two original large inglenook fire places are the main focal point of the house, bringing a real farmhouse feeling to the property.
In the main barn we have 2 family rooms (which can each accommodate 4 – 6) these both have large en suit shower/wc. We also have another living/seating area to plan the next day’s trip out.
We have a large spacious outside area for eating or relaxing the night away, along with our own bake oven to produce home made pizzas.
To launch our 2006 season, we have put together a fantastically priced package for our tours and accommodation, aimed at all types of motorcyclists’.
Please see our
website for full details and truly amazing offers. At the Wishing Well you can have the total motorcycle experience at an unbelievable price.
The Wishing Well motto “ride by the seat of your pants!”
We are happy to offer your individual members 10% discount.
For organized group discounts please contact us through our website:
www.thewishingwellguesthouse.com
Kind Regards
Riccardo & Karen

I think you'll find there is a lot of interest in Biker friendly B&Bs, it's great to get somewhere like that and feel welcomed. Maybe meet other bikers and chill out.
We are at 2, Sheader, Uig, Isle of Skye, IV51 9YF.
Phone number 01470 542 338, e-mail
HOBSON86@AOL.com
We have a twin and a triple bedroom, all at £16pp-pn, full bikers breakfast included. Our neighbour also has a B&B with a double and twin, and while not a biker herself, is very amenable to bikers. The B&B is two minutes from the ferry terminal to the Outer Hebrides, and located in Fairy Glen. My husband has a fully kitted out workshop, so most repairs and maintenance can be carried out - tyre changes etc. He insists I mention he has two Ducati 916 bikes and two classic Kawasaki's.
It is worth mentioning Oscar, a handsome, finely marked, slim hipped 8' boa constrictor, but he has his own accommodation in the living room and no-one is expected to share their bed with him.
Secure garaged parking is also available. The bathroom is shared, Sky and Internet are also available
