Ultraseal is a puncture prevention treatment that is installed into your tyres through the valve stem. Once installed, it protects against punctures and blow-outs in your motorcycle tyres. Ultraseal guarantees that it will seal a puncture caused by an object in the tread area up to 6mm in diameter permanently, for the life of the tyre, providing there is no damage to the casing (cords or sidewall damage.)

In the event of serious damage to the casing or sidewall the tyre may suffer a blow-out which can be potentially life-threatening. Ultraseal will prevent a blow-out by allowing the tyre to deflate slowly down to a lower pressure. The bike can then travel at reduced speed on a soft (slowly deflating) tyre, to a place of safety where the tyre can be repaired or replaced, away from any danger on the motorway.

Many have come to recognise the wide open empty roads of France as a wonderful riding experience. All too often we are deterred from the delights of France by the cost of crossing a little bit of water. This has now changed. The picture book Ardennes, Lille, Rouen, Gent, Bruges, Brussels and even Paris are now an economical weekend destination for VSOC members, at least, for those in the south! Others, when going for a longer stay, may find it worthwhile to ride to Dover, stay the night and take one of the morning ferries.

We are pleased to announce the VSOC has been able to finalise an arrangement to allow you to cross to France at a preferential rate.

NorfolkLine, which primarily carries commercial traffic, opened their new boats to tourists a few years ago. VSOC Members, both here and overseas, will be able to enjoy favourable rates for the period 01.01.05 – 23.12.05 as follows:

These RETURN fares are for bike + (up to) 2 and are valid for all sailings, providing space is available. NorfolkLine’s Dover/Dunkerque/Dover crossing takes two hours one way. This gives you the chance to enjoy the on board restaurant, bar / snack bar or relax in the lounge with a panoramic view over the bow of the ship. There is good quick access from the port in Dunkerque to the A16/A25 motorways in France and the A18/A10 motorways in Belgium.

Members are encouraged to support NorfolkLine in the hope this favourable arrangement can be carried forward to future years.
