Lead
Rider - Petition
I'm led to believe that a crown court ruling says that the lead rider in a group will now be able to be prosecuted and fined for the fastest rider in the group even if he, the leader, is not speeding. i.e. if the leader is doing 70mph on a motorway and the tailender has to do 85/90mph to catch up and get caught the lead rider will get the same speeding ticket.
There is a petition running at the link below. Please sign it if you feel you
should
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Overturn the ruling
The Lead rider gets the blame?
Motorcyclist at the head of a group of riders will face stiffer penalties for speeding under a crown court ruling. Or the same penalty as the fastest rider in the group is trying to catch up.

Bob
Rose and Maria (C8)
Bobo Rose and Maria from C8 were involved in a
motorcycle accident last Sunday in the way back from our overnighter at Barmouth.
This resulted in Maria being air ambulanced to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with a head
injury, this turned out to be a fractured skull and a fractured cheek bone, she was released from hospital on
Thursday, Bobo was transported by land ambulance to the same hospital with a broken ankle which was
operated on on Thursday and he was released on Friday, and they are staying with Tina and Ian Forking for a few days.
Bobo being his usual self caused chaos in his usual way while in hospital, one night he got all the patients on the ward to raise their beds up to their maximum
height, about 4 foot off the ground, when asked what they were doing by the nurse Bobo replied that they were having a roof top
protest, when asked what about, he replied that they had not decided what for,
Get well soon BOB and Maria from all at C8

Greetings Cards
Hi. I have just started making Greetings cars with Motorcycles on and being a member of Centre 8
I have started with the Yamaha Cruiser range. I have put them on eBay only 2 days ago this week so no one has really seen them yet.
You can see what you think of them at the link below and I would welcome any suggestions.

Lyrics
I got myself a cruiser
It's one found on on eBay
Sim-i-lar to a Harley
In a metric kind of way
Duel carberettors, twin exhaust pipes
One's fake but the others real
Two cylinders in-a v-formation
Shaft drive to the wheel
Wish there was a fuel gauge
I get about one twenty
When-I-fill-her up at Lincoln
By Middlesborough we're empty
Duel carberettors, twin exhaust pipes
One's fake but the others real
Two cylinders in-a v-formation
Shaft drive to the wheel
I got horses forty four
I could do with a little more
The bottom end is fine
But I red line at 89
X-V-5 3-5 Virago
X-V-5 3-5 Virago
Gonna loose the sissy bar
I'm gonna loose the wind screen
Gonna-lose-about 20 pounds
Gonna ride like Barry Sheen
Duel carberettors, twin exhaust pipes
One's fake but the other's real
Two cylinders in a V-formation
Shaft drive to the wheel
I got horses forty four
I could do with a little more
The bottom end is fine
But I red line at 89

Card Driving Licenses - Important
Unwitting motorists face £1,000 fines as thousands of photo card driving
licenses expire. Thousands of motorists are at risk of being fined up to £1,000 because they are unwittingly driving without a valid
license.
They risk prosecution after failing to spot the extremely small print on their photo card
license which says it a automatically expires after 10 years and has to be renewed - even though drivers are licensed to drive until the age of 70.
The fiasco has come to light a decade after the first batch of photo licenses was issued in July 1998, just as the they start to expire.
Motoring organisations blamed the Government for the fiasco and said 'most' drivers believed their
licenses were for life.
They said officials had failed to publicise sufficiently the fact that new-style
licenses - unlike the old paper ones - expire after a set period and have to be renewed.
To rub salt into wounds, drivers will have to a pay £17.50 to renew their card - a charge which critics have condemned as a 'stealth tax' and which will earn the Treasury an estimated £437million over 25 years.
Official DVLA figures reveal that while 16,136 expired this summer, so far only 11,566 drivers have renewed, leaving 4,570 outstanding.
With another 300,000 photo card licenses due to expire over the coming year, experts fear the number of invalid
licenses will soar, putting thousands more drivers in breach of the law and at risk of a fine.
At the heart of the confusion is the small print on the tiny credit-card-size photo
license, which is used in conjunction with the paper version.
Just below the driver name on the front of the photo card
license is a series of dates and details - each one numbered.
Number 4b features a date in tiny writing, but no explicit explanation as to what it means.
The date's significance is only explained if the driver turns over the card and reads the key on the back which states that '4b' means 'license valid to'.
Even more confusingly, an adjacent table on the rear of the card sets out how long the driver is registered to hold a
license - that is until his or her 70th birthday.
A total of 25million new-style licenses have been issued but - motoring experts say - drivers were never sufficiently warned they would expire after 10 years.
Motorists who fail to renew their licenses in time are allowed to continue driving. But the DVLA says they could be charged with 'failing to surrender their
license', an offence carrying a £1,000 fine.
AA president, Edmund King said: 'It is not generally known that photo card licenses
expire: there appears to be a lack of information that people will have to renew these
licenses.
'People think they have already paid them for once over and that is it.
'It will come as a surprise to motorists and a shock that they have to pay an extra £17.50.'
The AA called on the Government to use the annual £450million from traffic enforcement fines to offset the renewal charge.

Where In The World is Clatter
With the winter breaks starting and the whole motor biking season ahead of us, this is your chance again to get a photo in print and win a good prize.
The VSOC are running the "Where In The World is Clatter" competition, there will be 2
categories
"TRAVEL" and HUMOROUS" all we ask is that in the picture is a copy of our magazine "The Clatter"
Last Year C6 swept the board winning both categories and the winners have donated their prizes to their rally in august 09, this year we hope to beat the 40 odd entries received and hopefully get Solent / The Scrumpies / Pen Pirates / Saxon Warriors / Rejects / Crusaders out this time with their cameras to show us all what you have been up to.
Already we have had a brilliant set of photos Hank in C10 whilst on holiday in USA ,,,showing the travel theme ,,,and if you go to
www.cowdery.org.uk/rude.php
or try Google you can find some brilliant amusing place names for the humorous side of the competition.

Please send your entries to Terry Lewis on
tervirago1@aol.com and we will save all the pics, and at the end of October get Custom Cruisers to judge all the entries.
Best of luck and hope you have a go at this competition.

Roadstar
Warrior Calendar
Hi guys. I have created a charity calendar, not unlike the VSOC calendar girls one. It is for a good friend of mine, Bone, who rides a Yamaha Roadstar Warrior. His son, Anthony, is suffering with motor neurone disease, which is a muscle wasting condition and is ultimately terminal. His condition has now deteriorated to the point where he cannot wash, dress or feed himself. Both Bone and his wife have stopped working to be full time carers for Anthony. Also they have had to make changes to the house to accommodate Anthony's condition.
I have created a calendar comprising of Yamaha Roadstar Warriors, all embellished with sexy but tasteful girls. The girls are mainly the wives and girlfriends of the bike owners and many said they would not have done this except that it was for a good cause. Julie, who most of you will know as my lovely wife, is "miss July". All profits from the sale of these go to Bone and his family to help out a bit.
So far I have sold about 90 including quite a few to the States and into Europe but I could do with selling a few more to really make it worth while and cover the initial costs.
All the details can be found at:
http://rswarrior.com/forums/t/120606.aspx
and
http://rswarrior.com/forums/t/120608.aspx
They cost £12 each including postage and about half of that will go to Bone and family.
The calendars are full colour and are 9" X 18" with the top 9" square being the picture and the bottom 9" square being the calendar.
If anyone is interested please email me at
Badger1670@live.co.uk.
Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this.
